“Yes chef!
corner hot!
how long?”
It’s a Friday night, your kitchen is in the weeds, the wait staff is triple sat, your bartender is out changing a keg and the hostess can’t put a wait on Open Table because the owner doesn’t believe in structure.
Your ticket rack is filled and the machine just printed another ten tables. The dish pit is drowning in silverware and pans, your food runner decided to take a smoke break and now you’ve got food dying in the window.
You finish out the night exhausted, the night seems like a blur and everyone can be friends once more having survived another dinner service. A sea of mobile phone photos flood social media doing no justice for the hard work you and your team put out for the world.
In a world of unappreciated hard work, I strove to capture more than just food photos. I captured emotions, poetry in motion, a symphony of kitchen noise only a lucky few get to hear and recognize.
